Will PSPs sales be enough to warrant a PSP2?

No, the PSP2 needs:
-Similar Graphical Levels
-Much longer battery level
-Slimmer body
-A better analog stick (if any)
-A format worth crap(Not UMD again...)

The handheld market is a whole different ball game.
