Yeah my team usually consists of Grunt and someone. Samara, Garrus or Thane.
I like giving the snipers the one shot kill sniper rifle as it's very useful for them considering they have unlimited ammo - take people down in one shot consistantly.
I just switched my advanced training biotic to Warp Ammo which increases damage to all types of units and it's fierce! Love it.
