Well, it would seem that you answered your very own question right there since that is precisely what neoconservatives are concerned about. There are Western values besides democracy, you know. Like pluralism. The Copts are worried about living in a post-Mubarak Egypt, and with good reason.

There's certainly a case to be made that Obama is the one who "lost Egypt". According to Pew, America's approval rating in Egypt is roughly half what it was during the Bush administration.
