It is possible though, for a third party to create a UMD ripper. But i don't see this happening any time soon since almost no one actually buys UMD's *looks at piracy*.


1) That kinda takes away the point of portability. Carrying round a PSP and an NGP is gonna be annoying

 

2) That only applies to people who already own a working PSP

 

Adding in backwards compatability is a major convenience for current PSP owners, and for non-PSP owners it changes the launch lineup from about a dozen games to several hundred.

 

Anyway, it'd be fairly interesting if all digital games you'd purchased could be transfered but all retail games could not. That is often one of the complaints about DD.
