That was such a hard list to come up with. I'd also like to give a nod to Fable 2, Killzone 2, Fallout 3, Bioshock 2, Tekken 6, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake and Little Big Planet.

It's better than Pokemon Yellow, that's how good Yakuza 3 is. 

You might not like it though mainly because how awkward the controls can be and the the amount of text and dialogue can be overwhelming to a JRPG newbie. I've never played Yakuza 1 or 2 and this game blew me away with how fun it is and how cool the world was. You should be able to find it for $20 now and if your willing to take the risk on a niche game, then go for it.
