Pixels count and screen size

3DS: 268800 pixels covering 3.53'' + 3.02'' screens.

PSP2: 522240 pixels covering 5'' screen.

Is Sony cramping too many pixels into such a small display area?

They may as well put in a 10'' screen and people couldn't tell the difference.
