Frustrations with misconceptions about VGchartz

I don't expect everyone to love or accept vgchartz for a number of reasons

1. NeoGAF and other sites who were essentially jealous of what we were doing have done everything in their power to bad mouth us all across the internet.

2. Fanboys are both a blessing and a burden. The site would have no where near the popularity it has if it wasn't for fanboys but at the same time they are so eager to try and dismiss something that doesn't support what they want to be true. Hence no matter what figures we put out they will always be "too high" to some and "too low" to others for no reason other than that is how they want them to be.

3. Some people are on the fence and find it hard to believe we can do what we are doing and achieve the kind of accuracy we do. Well we do and we are so the numbers should speak for themselves.

I have given up fighting all the little battles for the site, hopefully you guys will help spread the good word and we are taking plenty of "high level" actions to try to improve the image of the site and remove all the bad press we have been given from these people.

I think you need to make a "VGChartz soldier" icon for people's sigs, for those who go around to different sites defending VGChartz.

You're right, it's going to be a never ending battle getting people to buy in to the methodology, especially if the figures don't match their perceptions of reality. This however, does not mean anyone should give up defending the site. I for one, will not.

I just thought I'd vent my frustrations in this thread.
