"Affordable" means different things to different people, and it heavily depends on what you're looking at ...
If Sony is delusional, they could justify the PSP2 being $400 by pointing out you would need to spend $500 on an iPod Touch and 3DS to match the functionality of the PSP2; and therefore the PSP2 is a bargain.
