I know Americans are often accused of being close-minded (America = the world!), but did it cross YOUR mind, that maybe people in this thread just don't place the same value on handheld gaming that you do? Anyway, just a thought. |
He probably places high value on portable gaming. There are quite a few on VGC alone who seem to prefer it to console gaming.
That being said, I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the concept of paying more than $30 for a portable game considering that only once in a blue moon do I actually buy one that I play for more than 30 minutes a stretch, typically with long periods of inactivity in-between.
On the other hand, if you have a portable game system that plugs into a full sized HDTV (and doesn't look like a complete blurry mess or isn't cropped into a tiny portion of the screen), I have no problem paying full price for portable games that are more or less the equivalent of their console counterparts.
$299 would be very reasonable.
$349 with 3G access would also be very reasonable although I could see such a model priced at $399.
