Video games scarier than movies?

For me, totally, Demon's souls at night when you are home alone is way scarier than any movie I have personally experienced. most modern horror films just seem ovrer the top and cheesy to me. In fact, Heavy rain almost had me going atmosphere wise until its total saw ripoff part where he has to cut off his finger made me laugh and after that I just couldnt take the game seriously (still doing better than the saw movies though which are not scary past the opening music) while persona 4's 'the ring' plot similarities meant I lost interest in the story incredibly quickly.
