Some crazy mobile game like Angry birds... iPhone version more than 12 million times downloaded.. 7 million of them are the full version.. and they earn 1 million dollar in per month in revenue from the advertising that appears in the free Android version.. thats serious money..

Depending just how good Bulletstorm and Rage are, they could manage 7 million between PS3, 360 and PC versions....If they can just do 3 million on the 360 and 2 million on the PS3 and PC then they are set.

bullet storm wont reach 3 million on 360, and definatly wont reach 1 million on pc.

rage has a chance of doing big but it all depends on the quality of the game.

unless all the kids stop playing cod and get their christmas gifts early, bullet storm isnt going to be the best selling ip this year.

What's stopping it? It comes with the beta for Gears of War 3 on the 360 (a game that has sold 6 million alone on each release). I'm not saying it's definitely going to hit 7 million but it has 10 months to sell that much. Just because you're not hyped for a game doesn't mean others aren't. ;)

I think you've said it youself - you're predicting Bulletstorm to sell more then Gears of War 2. 7 million is alot of units and I don't think a single new IP (Minus Nintendo's casual goldmine) has come anywhere close to doing that. You've expecting Bulletstorm to sell more then some huge, established franchises, like Final Fantasy XIII and Resident Evil 5 - simply won't happen imo. No one saw Red Dead's success coming I guess, but that game was far bigger budget then Bulletstorm (Which itself isn't exactly low budget, but not nine figure either :P).

Bulletstorm I think will do fine though, I reckon EA will get a good 2.5 million sales LTD out of it, get the sequel out in 2 years.

I personally view the best selling new IP as a toss up between LA Noire vs RAGE - I'd say Bulletstorm is a good wildcard though. I just can't go against Bethesda's recent track record and not say RAGE, as well as the fact RAGE really does seem to be a bigger budget game then Bulletstorm. ID are putting alot behind that and to be honest i think they're literally expecting 3 million sales as a bare minimum.
