there are plenty of things you may already own that you can't control it. housing -- you can't build additions or do major renovations without governement approval. cars -- some moddifications are legal, many other mean you can't legally drive it. You can use parts from any manufacturere and can modify your car any way you want. Depending on where you live you may or may not drive on public roads (roads you do not own). they are not limiting what you can do to your car or how you modify it. They are not letting modified cars on the road if they are not deemed safe by the government. Sony has any right to not allow these modded ps3's on the psn "road" but should a user not want to use their psn "road" they can do what they want. So again you can modify how you like guns -- laws dictate where you can/cannot use them Guns main purpose is to harm people or animals, it should be controlled by the government, not the gun makers like sony is trying to control the ps3 in all cases there is a balance between protecting the rights of the those that own the property and other parties thate that can be affected by those modifications. How is me putting linux on my ps3 harming others? Piracy and hacking the psn are illegeal yes, but this does not concern that in any way, read the article sony or whoever has a right to protect their investments in creating software. I have a right to be able to play games without hackers wrecking my experience. people should have the right to do unconventional things with their hardware. It is not software they are talking about, do you guys not read the articles posted at all? somewhere a line needs to be drawn -- now we just need to figure out where that is. |
So you have houses, I think that is somewhat uncomparably to a console.
