Wow, where have you been? Yes, 2nd season is finished filming and is currently finalizing editing and effects. Will continue in "spring". However, due to the sudden announcement, the 2nd season will leave the story unfinished. I'm writing letters to MGM and SyFy in an attempt to get at least one more season so the writers can get some sort of finalization written, even though it was planned for a 5 season story line.

I don't follow TV series on forums and such due to risk of spoilers. Why does the petition mention petitioning for a fourth season, what happened to a third?
"There are no plans for a fourth series, so if this cancellation goes through, Stargate is over."

Typo or originators own missinformation. Some people misconstrue the mid-season break for the end/beginning of a new season and maybe they think the 3rd season is about to start vs the 2nd half of the 2nd season. Basically, idk.
However, but that's beyond the point. Just signing the petition and supporting by pushing emails / letters to those in charge at SyFy and MGM may get it continued for another season or potentially picked up on another network.
