This is pretty huge news for PS3/360...i'd say it's more than just "cool".

The only other game that let you download free maps from the community was Unreal Tournament 3 on ps3. Unfortunetly the game was way better on PC of course, but if you did enjoy it on ps3, then you're pretty much looking at an almost unlimited amount of free DLC.

I think on average, the quality of user-made maps will be abit better compared to LBP1/2. Anyone with LBP can make something within minutes and release it to the public. While that's true for Portal 2, it's still a completely different thing. The PC community overall is more dedicated when it comes to modding/mapping. It takes alot of effort just to learn how to use most of the tools needed for stuff like this on pc.
