It makes a lot of fiancial sense in this day and age to go multiplat. They'll sell several hundred thousand on the 360 easily. Not much reason to stay exclusive for third party developers.

Yes and they would make more money making it PS3 exclusive because a huge amount of the consumers will purchase it either because the quality isn't held back and it's a great exclusive or because they're just fanboys so they will purchase it because it's exclusive. For most games yes, but not for this. This is a PlayStation franchise first and foremost.

How would they make more money if it were exclusive? Do you expect this game to move hundreds of thousands of units of hardware? This franchise no longer move units the way gran turismo or halo might (and even those numbers are minor in the grand scheme of things). If we follow your line of reason, wouldn't it move many thousands of units anyway? Besides Final Fantasy isn't what it used to be, the last one was something of a disappointment imho.

It would most certainly move hardware, not massive amounts but it would move some. Of course the vast majority who are interested in this have a PS3 and plan on getting this on PS3 as it will probably end up the superior version again. It would sell far more if it were exclusive to the PS3 all of the fanboys would eat it up and the overall quality would be much better and not held back by another platform which in turn, will generate into better sales. Now, Square will still make a ton of money of this and make some good money from the 360 version, it's also been shown they're supporting Microsoft this generation so I'm sure they don't plan on delivering a bigger blow to the 360 then Final Fantasy Versus XII already is.
