You know I actually lived there for a year. Hate to be insensitive and judgemental, but what a shithole. The year I've been there had to be one of the worst experiences of a country, rivaled only by Uzbekistan. What I find common is all of the ex-USSR mainly Islamic countries are soooo 3rd world. But I think Kazakhstan has now been more modernised since I've been there, but Uzbekistan is as backward as it was I think.
