While they are different things, it's still extremely newsworthy how the currently leading handheld has passed last gen's leading home console in sales.
The GBA didn't sell as well as the PS2, and the original GB is so high in the stats only because our numbers bundle up the sales of a zillion different models released during a time period of 10 years. If this happened every gen I wouldn't care, but the DS is the first gaming device to beat the PS2's record in such a short time.
