I'm personally looking forward to Neptunia myself, but I will 100% agree with you that the JRPG scene is on the handhelds. I just bought four JRPG's for my PSP this month while I'm still eyeing the Dragon Warrior series for the DS. I'm waiting for a "suitable" pricedrop.
