Besides what makes you think he'd fail a psyche test?  You don't even know the motive.  Chances are he came from an abusive family.  "Politest kid you'd ever know" and other reports of him having a regressed mentality?  Also apparently the police "made insignificant visits to the house before."

Crazy people don't usually just mass kill people then turn themselves in unless driven by stress 9 times outta 10... which isn't something you are going to find on psych evaluation.

Well I don't know how things are over there, but over here the dad would go straight to jail. If you're a gun owner it's illegal to let anyone else but yourself use your gun, and minors aren't allowed to even touch firearms.

As for the stress thing, well some people are more psychologically weak than others, and are more likely to crack. I'm sure that a psychiatrist could make that out.

May I remind you that one of us has an actual degree in pschology?  What makes you think he even was more psychologically weak then others and more likely to crack?  Put anyone in an abusive household... see what the reactions are.

I actually know something about diagnosing people though.  Which is the point.  I think you have a generally ignorant view of psychological diagnosis.

Guy in Romania buys a gun.  Gives it to his son as a gift, it never leaves the house and they just use it to shoot targets in their backyard.

The cops would find out... how?

Well, the neighbors will probably call the police when they hear the gun go off (people over here aren't gun crazy, so very few own guns, and everyone will think ). Also, target practice can only be done at special shooting ranges, not your backyard. And the son will be arrested if he's ever found in the possession of the gun, without owning a license, and having the gun registered.
