I've been having trouble seeing said lines for most of this generation :P
This sounds pretty stupid, I hope this isn't true. I already don't buy a lot of new games and usually rent. Heck, the last console game I bought was a used copy of Final Fantasy XIII over the summer (this may change with Little Big Planet 2 and Killzone 3).
