its funny how some say that this shit will push them towards piracy when it is infact piracy's falt that Sony is looking into implementing this shit in the first place.
It seems to me that the poeple saying such shit are actually those inclinded to or were or are currently priating games. I should know, I used to priate games too during the ps1 and ps2 era and also when i had a psp. but ever since i got a ps3, all my games obviously have been legit.
news like these brings back the evil jacksparrow in me...fortunately i now have a small library of ps3 games consisting of 20 games which, when i look at stacked one on top of the other i go "OMG! its BEAUTIFUL!!" and is the only reason why i haven't gone out and jailbreaked by ps3 to kingdom come.
on topic, I dont believe that Sony will be implementing a PSN check on PS3 games as they know that there is a large portion of their userbase that do not have internet access. Think about it, Sony usually focuses on the SP experience and just adds on the online stuff as an after thought. I'm guessing the code thingy is more inline to prevent hackers and cheaters onto PSN.
Another thing, there is no way a BD disc can check if it has been registerd 5 times. as long as the game stays offline, it can be resold as many times as it likes to be resold and re-used. it just means that only 5 people get to play online and use it with PSN. used games store would just have to mark the game as no onlien or something.
