This is what i dont understand, because this is basically the same as using an illegal copy of Windows, so i dont know why pirates would connect to the internet. but then if you have the internet your most likely going to be on PSN.

but then pirates also cant connect to the internet or they would be banned, or prevented from running the game at all, so if they cant access the PSN network, how cant they distribute their hacks. so it seems like a well thought out process imho, but i'm no expert, theres probabily a way to connect to PSN and distribute your hack without actully being a member of PSN.

You don't need to distribute a hack throgh PSN, if you mean the code or any patches, CFW and whatnot. Once they hack the BD check, it's like PC piracy. DL the iso or whatever it is BD get ripped into plus a txt with the code. Nothing will change for offline piracy play.

Yes, thanks for that. so it seems now that this system is mainly designed to prevent people from distrupting online play. athough we know that this is more to do with Activision and not to do with the PS3's security.

and i dont think this is too bad for used game sales, you buy a game you use 1 code, the store uses 1 code to check how many you have left, if you have 1, 2 or 3 codes, i dont see why the game cant be resold. when you trade things into some stores here in the UK, they check if its still in working condition anyway.

this is no different from that imho. the only problem is when you've used all 5 codes, then your game is useless.
