Exactly, important plot points were hidden in the datalog instead of in cut scenes where we got melodrama. I hope the sequel changes that, I think because they are doing all this they have realized their mistake.

The mythology is drawn up by Nomura, Nojima, Kitase and Toriyama, so its not just Toriyama's.

Well i'm not holding my breath, but its possible that FF13-2 will be very good if they decide instead to focus on this mythology for the game. and despite FF13, Toriyama has a good record with FF10-2, which had a lot of gameplay elements, customisation via the Spheregrid and Dresspheres, minigames, sidequests.  so i'm sure when he said they are working to respond to the opinions of FF13, they will do a good job, i'm just concerned about the story and characters this time round!!
