Yes it would. Would pretty much prove that FF 13 would have sold the same, if not more, if it had remained in it's original form and an exclusive.

I think there would be swords thrown around in Japan, even if they waited til E3 to reveal it was multi-plat. Didn't stop all the backlash from FF13 just because it was announced in the US. If it is revealed at E3 to still be a PS3 exclusive, hopefully this will stop all the "oh it's definitely going multi-plat" comments. Just gets annoying, especially after MGS4 a couple years back.
And really, it's not so much people not wanting it to be multi-plat, it's them not being upfront about it. No one was in an uproar when FF13-2 was announced multi-plat at the get go. But, it's being strung along thinking that the game is releasing on one platform and being optimized for that system, only to have it delayed so they can work on a quick port to get both versions of the game out at the same time. Wada did this before and it didn't really help the image of the company or sales of the game, and I just don't see him willing to risk anymore backlash by doin the same thing. And this time would be even worse, since FFV13 has been in development for even longer, with them saying it's PS3 exclusive the whole time.
