It isn't too narrow for racing. The actual Nurburgring 24 Hrs endurance has up to 200 cars participating at each moment. Even with the total length of over 20 Km, it's enough to have some fierce competition for places, in each category.
It is hard to master though, and it's not a track that everyone can get right, as it demands insane amounts of concentration to pull off a successful lap.
I love this track, and with the inclusion of the X2010 and the 24 Hrs layout, it has been made more exciting than ever to race in it.
Actually, I went back to it and managed to lower my fast lap to 4:48.235, almost 34 seconds faster than my former best lap, and there's still some seconds to be shaved of that time, as I did three slight mistakes.
