So i take it you dont own any of the HD consoles and only the Wii? You shouldnt really depend on an HDTV to play the HD consoles, of course itll just look better cause its made for it. But I've been playing my PS3 on a tube tv (27") for over 2 years before I saved up enough for an HDTV but i didnt mind because there are so many good games on the HD consoles and im glad i didnt miss out.
I just dont think you should let not owning an HDTV hold you back from getting an HD console and not being able to play some of the best games this gen.
