Sony could do it, not unlikely. But are we sure 3D will always be beneficial? I can't help thinking that 2D games "popping up" on 3D screens will look terribly cheesy. And as 2D games are already very important on the existing Nintendo platforms, while 3D is more important for Sony, it could be PSP2 to benefit more from it. OTOH, 3D screen could make a bump look uncannily real, allowing Sakamoto to add insane amounts of maternal instict to the next Metroid titles. Mushrooms and turtles would poke in gamers' eyes even in the flattest 2D Marios titles. Malstrom would be burned to ashes in a puff of smoke, hissing "Sssssakamoto, you asshole"! Malstromites would commit mass suicide drinking cyanide laced orange juice. Malstrom Royal Guard would strafe those refusing to drink. The 3DS experience would be awesome!
