Strangely enough I remember when MS tried to block people from doing this on the 360. People here were pissed. Calling MS greedy along with a few other thinggs :3

How so? What's greedy about MS blocking people from hacking their gamer score? Can people use their gamer score to get stuff on XBL? If so, then I still don't understand the greedy rationale. People using a hack to get free stuff they didn't earn, sounds like the greed accusation is 180 degrees round the wrong way (see what I did there? 360...180 degrees the wrong way?)

About a year ago MS blocked unlicensed memory cards from the system. It was easy enough to try to get them licensed, but memory cards from Datel were denied because THEY WERE USED FOR CHEATING! People went on a ranting spree about how MS just wanted more business for their cards. People shut up real quick a few months later when they announced external HD support ;_;
Edit: To elaborate. The memory cards would be used to download and load custom saves on the 360 to unlock achievements

Ahhh so the greedy bastards accusation wasn't about the achievements hack, but rather the blocking of after market hardware. Well I'm no fan of companies doing the proprietary HW thing, but in cases where non-std HW allows you to do naughty stuff then I think it's fine to close it down. I do remember this issue now and I called MS greedy bastards at the time. But I didn't know about the achievements hack. MS are still greedy bastards, but on this particular issue they had motivation other than greed to take the action they did.
