they mean because the 18th is australia's tomorrow but america is still the 16th  so its 2 days away >.>

wouldn't be 2 days away but 16 or so hours and since japan is around 3 hours behind Australia so its probably around 13 hours ahead for the US. 

this are rough estimates. But yes Australia could be watching it the next day like many  areas around the world
