I do really feel the kid was a hero. But everybody is forgetting the man who jumped in the water with just a rope around his waste to try and rescue a complete stranger. Then another civilian jumped in to help the first good samaritan. These men are heroes even more so then the boy.

The boy knew his brother for life and cared deeply for him. As a 13 year old it would have taken alot of strength and maturity to sacrafice himself for his brother. But what about this man who didn't know the people at all and jumped into action risking his own life for complete strangers.

I'd like to say I'd give up my life for my younger sister or that I would jump into rushing water to save complete strangers but I know I'd definatly be hesitant.

I feel its unfair that all the media ignores the rescuer and always praises the victim. The rescuer wasn't a police officer or fire fighter he was just an ordinary man to my knowledge and it would take alot of heroism to go out and save that kid!
