I originally thought it would do it for sure but not in 2 years. I'm still kind of thinking that's what will happen.

Holidays 2012 is when it should reach 20 million I think.

:-S

What do you expect holiday 2011 then?

Something like 4-5 million I guess. 8 million total for 2011.

Why the sudden drop for 2011 holiday?

I guess Kinect shipments for Q1 will change your mind (I hope), 8 mill for 2011 entirely is just too low. If it started doing that it'd get a price cut and sales would explode higher than the xmas we've just seen.

The drop is due to Kinect not being new anymore.

Also, 2011 looks like one of the crowdest year ever.

The 3DS and potentially the PSP2 and who knows perhaps the Wii 2 (??).

Also we'll most likely see a price cut for the Wii and the PS3 and maybe the 360.

One thing that could give Kinect a huge boost would be a price cut to let's say 99$.

It's all speculations as I don't really know and I find it hard to predict Kinect's sales.

hmm, I don't think the fact it isn't new will matter, look at the consoles. Kinect is/will follow a similar lifespan of sales similar to consoles, every xmas it'll sell bucket loads.

I don't think all the games coming out in 2011 will remotely effect it, and 3DS and PSP2 won't either, they never hindered Wii selling 24 mill and then 22 mill the following year, they're just different markets. That and 3DS and PSP2 don't offer anything like Kinect, nothing does.

I'm not so sure it'll get a cut now tbh, it's selling too good. 360 is the console that is most likely to get a cut, not having one since 2008, unlike Wii and PS3 getting one in 2009.

I respect your opinion, but we'll be back here holiday 2011 and by then we'll know it'll reach 20 mill waaaaaaaaaay before hoiday 2012 ... if it can sell 8 mill in 8 weeks, it's going to sell another 12 mill in 52 weeks, not 104.

I sure hope it does and perhaps my opinion will change as the year goes by. I just have to see a bit more how it trends in a non-Holiday period.

I'll be back!
