Plain and simple you can't actually fight crime in spandex in real life because you would practically need a suit a day. It's not like leather is an invincible material however for a poor student it makes sense that he'd want something durable instead of cheap in the long run. |
You're correct. But that's why the first 3 movies didn't use spandex. They used a much more durable material that was basically like combining a wetsuit and a rubber Batman suit.
