Nope. Thats just the highest the RAM is clocked at, so you could run the memory at a lower speed if the motherboard can't handle it. However the chances are pretty good that the motherboard will be able to run the memory at the rated speed.

Is that so? the reason I mentioned it is because I have always been cautious when it comes to RAM as it is such a fussy area, simply overlooking one small detail could well ruin a build, as my cousin recently found out to his misfortune.
