Not to mention that 720p with good amounts of AA >>> 1080p resolution
At least when it comes to pleasing my human eye.
Upscalling to 1080p and 1080p natively uses the same bandwith when it comes to cables being used. If a device can upscale to 1080p using a cable, the same cable can do real 1080p. The GPU is a different story tho...hence why the scaler chip and the GPU are such good friends in the 360. :)
