Putting together an impressive Minecraft creation just got a whole lot easier, with a Kinect hack able to transform data captured by the Xbox 360's camera into landscapes in the game.
Nathan Viniconis has figured out a way to take the depth and colour data Kinect is able to pick up from a 3D space and get Minecraft to work out not only how to recreate the image as a collection of the game's trademark tiles, but even take a stab at getting the right coloured elements to match the colours in the image.

I must say, I'm much more impressed with what the hackers have done with kinect than with its own software offerings. Stuff like this is what will someday entice me to pick one up...
