So the first computer you mentioned with a GTS 250 or HD 4850 or HD 5750 or GTS 450, whichever of those is cheapest. You don't need to replace the power supply; 450W is enough. The rest of the components are fine. I don't think you need an Intel processor for PS2 emulation? AMD is compatible with all x86 instructions except SSE4.x as far as I know. |
Ok, I've just got some more money (don't ask :P) that could cover buying an HD6850. I think I could get the second computer WITHOUT the HD4550 to make it cheaper, and buy the HD6850 somewhere else... What do you say, do you think that would be a good Idea? (I'm not sure if it's a micro ATX... will there be enough space for the card if it is? :P)
I think I read somewhere a few years ago that Intel processors showed better results than AMD ones... and I also read that using Core 2 Duo processors were better for the PS2 emulator than Quad cores because the emulator only uses 2 cores... and if you get a quad core you should get one of those with turbo boost... I don't know if the emulator supports quad cores currently though.

I dont believe that would be enough. And with power its better to have more than less because less can cause alot of problems. |
Yeah, I think I'll be getting the 6850 since I just got some more money :P and I'll probably get the second computer with the 600W power supply... but I'll wait for your recommendations before doing so... besides it's sunday today and I still have to get the money from the bank xD and I don't think the shop is open on sunday anyways.

And then of course next you probably couldn't run anything new. -edit- Also, don't forget to factor in $100-200 for software and accessories. |
Well... my current "gaming PC" if you can call it that way has a 9400GT 512MB video card, 2GB RAM and a Dual Core E2180... and I played Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill: Homecoming, The Last Remnant, Devil May Cry 4, etc on it... all of them on 1024x768 except for Resident Evil 5 which I played on 800x600 (LMAO).
I played DMC4 at 1024x768, No AA, Shadows on High, Textures on High, V-Sync OFF.
Resident Evil 5: 800x600, no AA, all on medium, V-Sync OFF, Motion Blur ON.
The Last Remnant: 1024x768, no AA, everything on high (LOL), don't remember about V-Sync, Draw distance set to max.
Silent Hill: Homecoming: all I remember is playing it at 1024x768.
I think more recent games will still play in that computer... but they'll be very laggy (all those games I listed run with lots of FPS drops, DMC4 between 20-40FPS, SH:H between 27-30, RE5 between 18-40, TLR between 15-30)
I think whatever PC I get will be better than that crap :P
Also... I already have a spare Mouse and Keyboard from the other PC and I'll use a headset for sound so no need for speakers.
By the way, do you think getting the second PC I put there and replacing the HD4550 for the HD6850 is a good idea? do you think it's a decent gaming PC? could I play games at 1920x1080/1200 with 4xAA and the MLAA filter the 6000 series have?

Are you sure about that? this thing says that the 6850 alone consumes 229W when load

Don't worry, I'll get a warranty.

The first one you posted costs 785 Dollars. The 615 part is 6 payments of 615,31 Pesos (153,44 Dollars)
The second one you posted costs 2999,99 Pesos (748,12 Dollars). And it's 6 payments of 584,95 Pesos (145,87 dollars).
And the third one you posted is the same link as the second one :P
I think I'll go with the second one I posted in the first page of the thread and change the 4550 for a 6850... do you think it's a good idea? are there any bottlenecks or something else I should change?

Yeah, I know... it really does suck... I remember when the PS3 was launched here (Illegaly because Sony still hadn't launched it officialy xD) it costed 5499 Pesos (that would be 1371,92 Dollars TODAY... back then the dollar was a lot less than 4,01... so it was probably above 1500 dollars back in the day, lol... I bought mine in 2009 for only 535 Dollars :P)
