His pupils have a serpentine shape because they have a serpentine shape. No lighting can cause that effect. Otherwise it would be common to see it on people on TV but it's not. It's either your blind or you're just playing dumb.
Nevermind there are videos of them having serpentine eyes without "room lighting" because they are outside.
