DIA is indeed freaky. I spent a night inside when a snowstorm had cancelled my flight.

The fact it went massively overbudget, and no one seemed to care was and is alarming. The tram tunnels are huge, and you kinda wonder if they could have secondary purposes that they aren't talking about. My opinion is that the airport could easily serve as a military base in case of some sort of crisis. Its by far the largest and most robust of any in America, and one of the few that can handle A-340s and other supermassive aircraft.

They do have a killer variety of food in their concourses, though. Its a great place to eat when your heading to Seattle or Portland.
