The problem in America is the politicians have essentially distanced themselves from the common person.  This is no longer a country where we are all equal.  Politicians are constantly and consistently above the average person in all aspects of life and this plays out on a daily basis.   

The problem with this,  is that they actually start voting and making decisions based on this twisted world view.  With little insight into their actual constituents. 

no, it's because they are taking orders from the corporations and special interests that fund their campaigns, that's why politicians don't work for the average person.
