They actually mean the same thing, because there's one key word in both phrases: created.

The best new IP Sony created this gen is arguably Uncharted - not LBP, not inFAMOUS, and not Resistance (even though they all are Sony's properties).

Heavenly Sword (perfect example) is Sony's IP. Who created it - Ninja Theory. Funnily enough, it was originally pitched to Microsoft for Xbox.

Uhm.. no, in my opinion these questions aren't the same

for my understanding the first ones conditions are, that Sony has to own the IP ("Sony IP" - an IP Sony owns) and that the IP must be created this gen (it's not specified by whom), while the second ones conditions are that the IP has to be created by Sony and this gen
