Just to add to this, the main FF team is PDD1. who mostly came over from FF7's development into FF8. these guys did FF10, and i think Kitase's voice carries the most weight in development of these games. this team is also responsible for things like FF7 compilation, FF10-2, FF13 compliation. the problem i feel is that since Sakaguchi's departure the products this team have produced are sub standard, eg FF13, Dirge of Cerberus, FF10-2, Advent Children, etc.
