Why is the answer to everything always a price cut? Its like noone expects that Sony can actually do anything to raise the appeal of the console without first cutting the price. The PS3 is $299 for its main SKU
The PS3 ASP was something like $315

that there's is a 199 sku on the market and 299 has never ever ever ever in the history of ever have been a mass market price.

Which is irrelevant if the $299 SKU outsells it 2:1 which also outsells the PS3.
