Business is business. Whatever the companies what to do that brings them closer to achieving their goal, they will do it. Let me give you an example, the Cell, (which is used in the PS3) was co-developed by 3 companies. Sony, IBM, and Toshiba. Now Sony and Toshiba are in a so-called "war" for the next high-definition optical media. There is no such things as a business to totally take out another business just because of what "side" they are on. If a company thinks that the next move will help them out in the long-run, they will do it. They will overcome any problems.
