Sony - What does Ps3 need? - View Post

A price drop would surely increase sales for the console and it would be nice to see, but Sony is profiting from the PS3 now and it's only been a short while since they've been able to do so. I imagine a price cut will be coming around this years E3.

Heavily bundled systems. I'm not just talking a $299 PS3 with a game included, but actually coming out with special edition systems that have images of whatever game they're trying to promote (killzone, inFamous, LBP, Uncharted.) I can imagine seeing these flying off the shelves, whether they're from newcomers to the system or previous owners. Which ever way you look at it, money is being made and consoles are selling.

And last but not least, marketing. We're all very aware that Sony doesn't market their games as much as we'd like (or maybe they do, but M$ has spoiled that by dumping insane amounts of money on marketing for their products.) It would be nice to see Sony market their games a bit more whether it be by tv ads, ads on the net, or just in-store posters, cardboard cut-outs, and other imagery of some sort. With a little help from everyone, Sony could have free marketing from it's current userbase. Letting people know what is included with the $299 package and showing off what the PS3 is capable of isn't a hard thing to do. I've convinced several customers at my last job to go the way of the PS3 simply due to the fact it had built in wireless, free online, controllers that didn't require batteries or a charge kit - and i've banded a bunch of friends together to get PS3's, and it was done simply because of the free online.
