Is this thread serious?

FFXIII is among the best games in the entire series. It got generally favourable reviews and almost every fan I talk to loves it.

FF versus XIII is one of the most anticipated games right now.

Square could announce a new main installment at any moment and the internet would collapse before Final Fantasy.

Even if it is one of the best games in the entire series, the series is in decline in Japan, evident by the sales and its success compared to other RPGs and Japanese franchises.

here in the west, its hardly achieved any major industry accolade, and the sales show that most copies were sold in the first few days, telling us that mostly old fans have bought this, not necessarily new fans. (however i think releasing on the 360 has been a good choice for attracting newcomers).

and theres a good bet here in the west Mass Effect and Dragon Age will usurp the FF series and become the new mainstream RPGs, so imo there is a lot to be concerned about for Wada and SE at the moment. not to mention FF12 also recieved a mixed reception and FF14 hardly even that.

i've been a fan of FF for the last 10 years, and i'm no longer interested in Versus, i might not even get if its not well recieved, imo there is a lot to be concerned about if there are more fans like me here in the west.
