Why in the land of platforming (Japan) LBP failed so miserably?

It's mostly the floaty physics that screw it up, it makes for imprecise jumps and unexciting gameplay. There's not much you can do besides jump and grab things.

But I could just say there's not much to mario except jumping and jumping on weird turtle things? Either way, LBP2 would change your view completely. It would be interesting to see how it performs too.
