It's not solely because of piracy . DS sells software just fine even though piracy has been easier on DS than PSP, PS2 sold software just fine even though it had massive piracy, Wii, PS1 etc. Bigger reason for lack of PSP software sales is its game library. Yes there are some critically amazing games but even these are seen little watered down PS2 versions with nothing unique. They are typically home console games turned to portable but with inferior graphics and gameplay. Nintendo has been able to create games that work better on handheld. Also first party line up for PSP has been pretty much disaster. Compare that to PS3 and it has been pretty bad. It feels that when PS3 started to stuggle Sony somehow forgot they had PSP and it has been that way.
