Sony - What does Ps3 need? - View Post

Sony, and especially the PS3, needs its own identity, for something that the fans can latch on to. Nintendo has motion controls and several original IPs, Microsoft has Xbox Live and a few original IPs like Halo as its beacon, plus a whole new method of motion controls. Sony has some good titles, but nothing really with a "wow" factor to lure people in.

It is NOT a WHOLE new method. The core idea has been done before, but the tech itself is more advanced, cost-efficient, and at the same time, much more practical for gaming.

Not trying to downplay it, as it no doubt stands out from other products, but the method is not new.

OT: Frankly, nothing. It might have a slim chance at overtaking the 360 in overall WW sales, but other than that, there's nothing to be done (granted, it'll need a price cut for that). The brand is seriously hurt in the Americas (and the UK, but it's nowhere near as important), and the Wii is just trucking along nicely.

Next gen, they need to hit mainstream appeal with something especially in the US.

True, I meant as in released/available to the public. Its new to the consumers.
