In europe according to Statcountrer. They say its due to Chrome taking Marketshare from IE while FF maintained its postion making it number one. LINK

Its because IE doesn't come with copy of Windows 7 in Europe that these browsers are even close to IE. General public doesn't need to switch browsers from IE as it does basic browsing fine.

You're wrong. You'd be hard pressed to find a college campus, school, or office that still uses IE in the US. There's an older generation of internet-ignorant people who still use it, but overall, it's being phased out entirely among professionals and youth. The future of IE is bleak at best. Frankly it's already pretty much done. Just too insecure, and it's no longer the standard for education or major businesses.

PS: I use both Chrome and a Windows-specific mod of Firefox called "Pale Moon."

Sorry but how does that make him wrong about why it has changed in Europe... he is right.  The anti-competitve rule which made MS unbunbdle IE is of course the reason why it has changed so much recently....

Ironically it is what has made Google get such a hold.  Google gaining advantage from an anti monopoly action... hilarious.

the thing is Google's monopoly is hard to get control of due to the fact everything they do minus ads are free. Chrome, Google Docs, Android, etc are all free and many can be considered freeware.

Doesnt that make you suspicious!?  lol

Actually no, not at all. Many companies give away free email, software, etc. Google just has a very strong gripe on web search which allows them to control the market on web advertising. Their gripe on the market allows them to higher the best programmers in the world. If the EU attacks Google and forces them to charge for everything or split up their software divisions it will basically be an attack on the internet and technology. It would end all free email, free software incentives, etc. Basically cause massive harm to the internet as we know it.

Only thing Google could be found guilty of is tax evasion.

Googles monopoly has nothing to do with their free tools...but more to do with data they are able to collect and the search monopoly they have.

By having search monopoly and pretty much knowing the exact number of people and demographics that go to every website, they can control the rates which advertises pay to advertise on sites. Not to mention the ad serving tools they use and own which are most compnly used ad servers (doubleclick) and whave data on pretty much every website out there. So they just know way too much about stuff they shouldn't have any information about...
