Thisisxbox has gotten hold of a very interesting rumor. They are calling it a rumor because there’s no official statement confirming the news yet. However, the source is someone working within the industry and has given spot on leaks before. They include confirming Black Op’s release, naming Kinect before the E3 and first Gears Of War 3 images.

According to him an upcoming Call Of Duty title is being worked on right now by Infinity Ward. The game is being developed on the same Modern Warfare 2 engine and will be titled Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The game will primarily focus on the character Ghost from Modern Warfare 2. The game will follow his story as to how he first became a member of Task Force 141. Everything will lead on to the events of Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. You will revisit locations from both Call Of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2.

Robert Bowling, the community manager of Infinity Ward has neither confirmed or denied the rumors about this Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Prequel title. Some news had been saying that Infinity Ward was finished but they have advertised for staff last month for a Multiplayer Level Designer and a Scripter under their own name.

Update:

Speaking of ads another job vacancy was just spotted. Raven Software which is owned by Activision has advertised to be on the lookout for a Lead FX Artist for the development of a console based realistic first person military shooter. The job description also stated that the applicant should be able to create highly realistic effects under stunning game environments. Activision already had confirmed of another Call Of Duty title in the ending quarter of 2011. Either Raven is working on a completely different game else it’s definitely the Mordern Warfare 3 title. We like to think it’s the latter.
